Design: The Cretan Mermaid scarves draw their inspiration from the exceptionally rare collection of Cretan embroideries preserved in the archives of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This archive also holds the oldest dated example of Greek embroidery from Crete, a work dating to 1697.
