The weaving tradition of this land comes to life through works by contemporary creators and children, who drew inspiration from Greek heritage and translated it into new objects and artistic expressions, highlighting its timeless influence on the present day. Through these diverse creative approaches, traditional woven motifs prove that they remain a living source of inspiration, capable of connecting memory, art, and contemporary design.

The collection is continuously enriched. Today it includes the following works:

♦Three garments by the fashion brand MELITTA from a collection that revives traditional motifs from Arcadia and Crete.

♦A work inspired by woven motifs from the wider region of Macedonia, created by the student team of Maria Varela, Assistant Professor of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Western Macedonia (Florina), bridging academic research with contemporary artistic expression.

♦Two scarves from the Cretan Mermaid Scarves series by Ariadne Kritonos, who drew inspiration for the designs from the rich collection of Cretan embroideries preserved in the archives of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which also houses the oldest dated example of Greek folk embroidery.

♦A work created by children from Ripesi, Messinia. They photographed old woven textiles made by their grandmothers and then reproduced their motifs using pyrography on small planks from old wooden flooring, transforming memories into contemporary artworks.
