SOURCE OF INSPIRATION
The Minoan lily, with the scientific name Pancratium maritimum, is one of the most characteristic plants directly connected to the beaches of Crete. Its flower is often depicted on the murals of Minoan palaces. In the photo we see part of a mural composition adorning a floor room in the “Villa of the Lilies” in Amnisos, Crete.
