BRANDING HERITAGE PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF TRAVEL ADVISORS (ASTA)
One of the most important events in the Tourism industry, the annual convention of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), in which 500 American travel agents were invited, was hosted in the Zappeion Exhibition Hall in Athens, in April 2018, opening new perspectives in the US travel market. In order to highlight the cultural heritage of ancient Greece and its influence on modern creations, Branding Heritage (BH) was invited to present Greek brands and artists who create products of cultural value. Among them were Chios Mastic and the ‘mastihashop’, along with the brand argalios.gr, representatives of which organized a weaving workshop that thrilled the American public, the creator of clothes and woven textiles, Faye Chatzi, and the brand Croquis by Qupa, which creates jewellery inspired by the floor plans of ancient monuments. Ceramist Dimitris Stathopoulos, who has been creating accurate replicas of ancient Greek pottery for years, was also invited by BH. The artist demonstrated the way a jar is painted and a pottery workshop was held during the exhibition. The event was organized by the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Travel and Tourist Agencies (FedHATTA).
