Culture Meets Art Fashion and Technology                ————-                       Minoan Heritage x Generative Art

The project of Branding Heritage, “Digital Minoans”, was presented at the 2nd Candia Walls Festival of the Municipality of Heraklion, Crete, on September 7, 2025

 On the occasion of the inclusion of the Minoan Palaces in the UNESCO World Heritage List, Branding Heritage Cultural Organization, in collaboration with the pioneering digital technology team Computational Design Studio – Comdes, presented the digital culture project “Digital Minoans”. The project was implemented under the auspices and support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.

The imposing Venetian Walls of Heraklion were transformed into a living canvas, hosting works by contemporary artists and designers inspired by archaeological findings, Minoan frescoes, and mythological figures such as the Labyrinth, Phaistos disc, Icarus, and Daedalus. Their work was depicted with cutting-edge Generative Art technology. Through technical excellence, technological innovation, and the use of algorithmic patterns, Comdes team transformed the artists’ works and key archetypes of Minoan culture into dynamic digital narratives, offering the audience a unique interactive experience with Crete’s cultural heritage.

Through digital tools of technology, Branding Heritage highlights Minoan heritage, presenting it not only as a legacy of the past but also as a dynamic field of contemporary artistic creation.The works transformed into digital representations are part of the Branding Heritage Collection “Contemporary Minoans”, including creations by  Loukia Orfanou, Maria Galanaki, Polina Ellis, Konstantina Kampisopoulou, Yiannis Fragiadakis, Athens School of Fine Arts student – team of Professor and Sculptor Markos Georgilakis 

 Additionally, 19 more works from BH Contemporary Minoans Collection were displayed on the Walls (NOT GENERATED) , including creations by: Alekos Fassianos, Sophia Kokosalaki, Mary Katrantzou, Adrian Fisher, Lilah Clarke, Tereza Valavani, Spyridon Tsagarakis, Christos Kourtoglou, Yiannis Politis, Voula Karampatzaki, Ergon, Reywal, Amalthea Athens, Klotho, Alexandra Bissa, Μarmarometry, Anaktae, Qupa, and Philomela, within a creative dialogue between Branding Heritage and artists who reinterpret elements of cultural heritage through art, fashion, and technology.

 The projection concluded with a moving tribute to Cretan heritage and its timeless power, voiced by actress Peggy Trikalioti:” Crete continues to inspire. Eternal. Intact. Our heritage is not only remembrance. It is the beginning. It is the future. It is the light that guides us.
