THE WEAVERS OF GREECE
The cultural organization Branding Heritage, as part of its actions for the promotion of cultural heritage, is implementing—under the auspices and with the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture—a multifaceted project aimed at preserving the traditional art of weaving and activating it in the present day, with a strong emphasis on sustainability within a contemporary economic, social, and cultural environment.
The ultimate goal is for the project to be implemented across all 13 Regions of Greece, highlighting the importance of synergy between tradition and modern entrepreneurship, and creating a Digital Database of weaving artisans. This database will enhance outward-looking engagement and facilitate networking with creative and professional networks in Greece and internationally.
Beyond documentation, a key objective is the strengthening of entrepreneurial skills and the connection of artisans with contemporary brands in order to foster collaborations and synergies. Documentation has already been completed in 2 Regions: Crete and the Peloponnese, is currently underway in Attica, and the next stop will be Western Macedonia.

WOVEN TEXTILES GO DIGITAL
BH aims to highlight Greek cultural heritage through contemporary forms of art. In collaboration with the pioneering Computational Design Studio ComDes, it explores new ways of preserving and re-defining weaving traditions in the digital era.
By harnessing the power of algorithms, ComDes brought a 100-year-old woven textile back to life, with deep respect for the original creation. Technology does not replace tradition; it functions as a tool for reinterpretation and continuity. The collaboration between traditional craftsmanship and digital innovation opens up new paths, dialogues, and connections.
